10 Things I Love About Group Piano

Red felt heart on piano keyboardTeaching piano in groups is not really that different from teaching one student.  Nevertheless here are 10 Things I love about it:

  1. It’s more exciting to create music in a group.
  2. Watching children help each other at the piano.
  3. The opportunity to teach Hot Cross Buns only once to 6 students at the same time!!!
  4. Students have the chance to share their music with friends every week.
  5. Music games are not between adult and child.
  6. Every week is an opportunity for a piano ensemble.
  7. It’s the best way for beginners to learn the basics.
  8. Students are now part of a community they meet with each week!
  9. The cost is less than a private lesson but still a profit for the teacher.
  10. I can work less hours but have more students!
